Othel (Schoonover) Boiles

Othel Boiles, 97, passed away peacefully in the home of her sister-in-law Joyce Schoonover on January 14, 2020 in Glen Rose.  A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Bethlehem Cemetery with Pastor Brad Slaten of King Memorial United Methodist Church of Whitney officiating.   Services are under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Othel was born in Hill County, Texas on May 3, 1923 to Dewey “Boss” and Ruby Golden Schoonover.   She attended Whitney schools and always thought of Whitney as her home.   On September 9, 1939, she married James Burleson Boiles in Fort Worth where they made their home for many years before moving to Nemo, Texas in the l970’s.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Burleson “Burt” Boiles; her parents; and a brother, Gerald Schoonover.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Joyce Schoonover of Glen Rose and numerous cousins and dear friends.
