Othell Williford, 95, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with burial to follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.

Othell was born on September 27, 1918 in Hillsboro to C. J. and Laura Smith of Grandview, where she was raised. She spent most of her life in Hillsboro where she married Nolan Williford on September 20, 1936. Othell was the loving mother of two children, Nancy Arnold and Teddy Williford, and spent her time as a dedicated homemaker and business partner at Nolan Williford Motor Company. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hillsboro and a long time, loyal member of the Quilting Club. She also enjoyed working at her daughter’s retail stores in downtown Hillsboro.

Othell was affectionately known as Mama O, and was known for her dedicated love and involvement as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceding her in death were her parents, C.J. and Laura Smith, husband, Nolan Williford, brother, J.H. (Bud) Smith, and sister, Clyde Marbut. She is survived by her sister, Jessie McDuff and husband, Rudy and children, Nancy Arnold and husband, Ken and Ted Williford and wife, Brenda. Mama O is also survived by her four grandchildren, Cindy Taylor and husband, Larry, Melinda Barron and husband, Randall, Melanie Simons and husband, Len, and Jeff Williford and wife, Kim; thirteen great-grandchildren, Falon Searle and husband, Josh, Tyler Barron and wife, Cassidy, Derek Dumas, Brittany Dumas, Carrie Taylor, Aaron Taylor and wife, Wendy, Dillon Dumas, Sydney Dumas, Brandon Simons, Lauren Kirk, Cole Kirk, Cody Williford, and Casen Williford; one great-great-grandchild, Barron Searle; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
