Ovella Murrah

Ovella Jo Murrah, 84, of Itasca, passed away on February 4, 2019, in Waco. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m, Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Central Baptist Church in Itasca with Pastor Matt Dugan officiating. She will Lie in state from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, with a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to service at the Church. Burial will follow at Itasca Cemetery.

Ovella was born on April 9, 1934, in Parker, Texas, to Joe Houston and Cassie ( Barron) Bean. She grew up in Covington, and she was a resident of Itasca for 56 years. In 1963, she was united in marriage with Billy Joe Sepert and he preceded her in death on September 28, 1998 . Later she married Charles Murrah on February 2, 2002.

Ovella was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family everyday. She was an avid sports fan especially the Dallas Mavericks. She was also an avid sewer and quilter and loved being at the Central Baptist Church with the ladies quilting. Ovella was a very hospitable person, enjoyed cooking, and was a friend to all.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Others preceding her in death were her parents; 3 brothers, Eldon, Owen, and Ray Bean; 1 sister Doris Malone; and grandson, Billy Williams.

Survivors include her spouse, Charles Murrah; children, Teresa Stevens, Keith Applegate, Tonya Chandler and husband Doug, Tim Applegate and wife Geri, Tamie Schmidt and husband Terry, Billy Sepert and wife Carrie, and Marshall Murrah and wife Dawn; special friend/daughter, Johnny Sue Faries; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and other relatives and friends.
