Pat Simmons

Pat Simmons, 62 of Whitney passed away on June 6, 2009 in Waco. Pat was born on August 8, 1946 in Boca Raton, Florida, the daughter of Joseph and Carol Majeski Chandrl. On June 8, 1968 she married Jerry Simmons in Granite City, Illinois. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Seaton Catholic Church in Plano, Texas. Pat was very active in the Lake Whitney Garden Club, enjoyed traveling, cooking, dancing, crossword puzzles, was a very competitive shopper, an avid Wheel watcher and very involved in the White Bluff community. She was a loving grandmother and mom. She was a special education teacher in the public school system until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and National Honor Society and was listed in Who's Who in College and Universities. She was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a member of the Sphinx at Southern Illionis University. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Susan Horton. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Simmons and four children - daughter, Christina Simmons and Tom Daffinrud of Frisco, TX; son, Jason Simmons of Moline, IL and son, Nathan Simmons of Austin, TX and son, Brian Simmons and wife, Stephanie of Wylie, TX; brother, Michael Chandrl and wife Pam of Glen Carbon, IL.; three grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter and Scarlett.
