Patrick Wayman Pat Massie, 72, of Clifton, passed away Friday, February 11, 2011, at his residence.


Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Paige Rowland officiating.


Pat was born April 16, 1938 in Vernon, Texas to John Henry "JH" and Evelyn Grace (Witmore) Massie. He lived in Abbott, Texas before moving to Clifton, Texas.


Mr. Massie served in the United States Navy as a helicopter mechanic and afterwards had a life-long career as a truck driver. He enjoyed any kind of mechanic work and his hobbies included fishing, playing pool and he loved to bar-b-que on the grill.


He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elizabeth Ann, two sisters Geri Massie-Taulbber and Dorris Massie-White, an a daughter Rebecca Anne Champion.


Survivors include his children, Debbie Clayton, Shelby Champion, Amanda Ginn, Rachel Francis Massie, Kenneth Ginn, Steven Champion, Michael Wayman Massie, Mitchell Eugene Massie, Marshall Bryan Massie, Matthew Jarrett Massie; brother, Jack Wood; sister, Sandy Massie-O'Neil; grandchildren, Jake and Starla Clayton, Leann Herrera, Joshua and Justin Massie, Barbara Massie, Amanda Massie, Melida Massie, Jefferson Smith, Zachary Smith, Andrea Butler, Robert Lippert, Christina Lippert, Samantha Browning, Christopher Norman; great grandchildren, Brodey Woodward, Bryson Woodward, Ava Huerra, Allen Massie, Skyla Massie, Kane Chavez, Elijah Chavez, Kimberly Stetinisin.
