Patti Knox

Patti I. Knox, 80, of Peoria passed away Sunday afternoon, August 31, 2014, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2014, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Joe Bob Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4th, at the funeral home.

Patti was born in Hillsboro on May 2, 1934 to William Luther and Iris (Colvile) White. She grew up in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School. On November 30, 1952, she and Benson Knox were married in Hillsboro. Benson preceded her in death on October 31, 2012.

The new couple moved to Cleburne shortly after marriage, where Benson went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad. With the railroad, they lived in many locations through the years. From 1971-1981, work took them to Alaska. Upon retirement, the couple returned in 1982 to the family farm near Peoria. They were known for growing produce and especially peaches. Patti loved to garden and had a beautiful rose garden for many years. She also had a talent for painting and enjoyed working with oils. Patti was of the Baptist faith.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, brother, Billy White and a brother-in-law, Charles Knox. Survivors include her three children, Gay Lynn Knox of Peoria, Samuel James Knox of Amarillo, and Steve Charles Knox and wife, Jessica of Anchorage, AK; two grandsons, Zakry and Seth Knox and great-grandson, Caden Knox; and brother-in-law, John Knox and wife, Myrt, of Itasca.
