Paul Burns

Paul D. Burns, 73 of Whitney passed away December 6, 2010 at his residence. Paul D. was born on September 24, 1 937 in Lake Creek; the son of the late Douglas Paul and Ollie Frances Bangs Burns. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged December 7, 1962. On August 31, 1958, he married Jo Ann Witkop in Richland Hills. He was a self employed paint contractor and home builder, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed fishing and being at Lake Whitney. He was a member of Fort Graham Baptist Church and a lifetime member of American Legion Post # 522. He was also preceded in death by his sister, GayNell Crow. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann of Whitney; children, Vicki Hurst and husband Robert of North Richland Hills, Douglas Paul Burns of Richland Hills; sister, Jonnie Cole and husband Larry of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Jason Hurst of Fort Worth, Jeffrey Hurst and wife Heather of Haltom City; great grandchildren, Evon Hurst of Fort Worth, Layton Hurst of Haltom City; nephew, Bobby Dvorak and wife Carol of Richland Hills; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
