Pauline "Sis" (Offield) Myers

Pauline “Sis” Myers, 100, of Whitney, passed away on December 9, 2019 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro.   Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2019, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Deacon Ronnie Sykora officiating.   Burial will follow at Prairie Grove “Greenie” Cemetery near Aquilla.  A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Pauline was born on May 9, 1919, in Dickens, Texas, to Ira and Lucy (Bruner) Offield.  She grew up in the Breckenridge area and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1937.   For 18 years, she worked in the Aquilla School Cafeteria and also at Latham Spring Baptist Encampment for several years.    In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing , was an avid reader,  and loved working cross word puzzles.  An excellent cook, she was especially known for her good chocolate pie.    She really loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a member of Aquilla Baptist Church and really enjoyed game nights at the church

She was preceded in death by the father of her children, R.C. Myers; her parents; one son Tommy Myers; a son-in-law, Larry Tyree; a grandson, Henry Myers and a granddaughter, Stacy Sykora.

Survvors include her children, Kathy Shipman and husband, Bob of Ft. Worth, Marion Allen of Arlington, Patty Myers Ward of Whitney, Ronnie Myers and wife, Diane of Aquilla, and Sandra Sykora and husband, Ronnie of West; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
