Pearl Nichols

Pearl Monroe Nichols, 72, of Hearne, Texas died Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan, Texas. Pearl was born June 13, 1934 in Hillsboro, Texas the daughter of Mose and Maudie Mae Jones Sheffield. She lived in Hillsboro most of her life and had lived in Hearne since 1982. She first married Cleo Monroe on November 30, 1950 and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1980. She later married Winifred Nichols on February 26, 1984 and he preceded her in death on October 18, 2000. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Hillsboro. Pearl?s greatest enjoyments were fishing, camping, playing the guitar, singing, and playing 42. Also preceding her in death was an infant son, Douglas Wayne Monroe, on July 30, 1951; and two sisters, Lula Mae Willett and Bessie Jane Hamitlon. Survivors include her children, Robert Lee Monroe of Hillsboro, Billy Gene Monroe of Hearne, and Mary Ann Hughes of Alvin; step-children, Carol Bayres and Wayne Nichols both of California; sisters, Susie E. Baker of Whitney and Mozelle Votaw of Hillsboro; four grandchildren; four great-grandson; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
