Peggy (Alexander) Morris

Peggy Alexander Morris, age 70 of Whitney passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, in Waco at Providence Hospice. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, June 23, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall with Mr. Bruce Martin officiating.  A burial will follow at Whitney Memorial Park.

Peggy was born on March 2, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas to Lucille and Felton Alexander. She lived most all of her childhood years and the last several years of her life in Whitney. She was married to Geral Mangrum of Oklahoma in 1971 and later married James R. Morris of Elm Mott. Most of her adult life she spent in Waco. She worked at Word, Inc. until they relocated to Nashville in 1998. Throughout her years she held several positions at various businesses in Waco including Curry Office Supply and Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Peggy was a member of the Whitney Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Christopher Brian; sister, Helen Ruth Alexander; and brothers, James Howard Alexander, Dalton Earnest Alexander, Daulton Luther, Thomas Carlton, and Weldon Ray Alexander.

Peggy leaves behind one sister, Nelda Kattner and husband Richard of Waco; sister-in-law, Alicia Alexander of Burleson; and sister-in-law, Gloria Alexander of Houston, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
