Perry Robinson

Perry E. Robinson, age 92, of Hillsboro passed away Saturday evening, July 25, 2015, at Hill Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Aaron Kalbas of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM, prior to the service.

Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on March 2, 1923, Perry was the son of Perry Jackson and Anna (Randall) Robinson. He grew up in Oklahoma City where he graduated from high school. During the last years of World War II, he served as a flight officer with the U. S. Army Air Corps. While still in the service on February 24, 1945, he married Gladys Louise Carr in Monroe, Louisiana.

After the war, he earned a MS degree in Fisheries Biology from Oklahoma State University and settled in Columbia, Missouri where he worked as a fishery biologist for the State of Missouri. In 1959, he moved to Fort Worth and began a 25 year career with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, retiring in 1984 as Chief of Natural Resources for the Fort Worth District.

Following the death of his wife, Gladys, he later married Betty Isbell, who would also precede him in death. He moved to Hillsboro in December of 2011 to be near family. Perry was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to his parents and two wives, Perry was also preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Jenkins; grandson, Brian Sheikh and granddaughter, Jeanne Clark. He is survived by four children, Marcia Braun and husband, Ron, of La Grange, Jan Wiesner and husband, Mark, of Cincinnati, OH, Jeanne A. Clark of Denton and Ken Robinson and wife, Barbara, of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Lorie Wolf, Michael Harbolt, Crystal Robinson, Erin Alford, Pam Kalbas and Maya Clark; and a number of great-grandchildren.
