Philip Gregory Crawford age 66 of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at home. A private family service will be held. He will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the family present from 4:00 p.m.to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Philip was born September 14, 1954 in Oakland, California to Ellis Luther and Wanda Colene (Reed) Crawford. He married his high school sweetheart, Terri Lynn Brown, August 27, 1977 at First Baptist Church Hillsboro. Graduated Hillsboro High School 1973, Texas A&M 1977 and TSTI Flight School 1980. He instructed flight at TSTI Flight School then moved to Abilene to fly for Chaparral Airlines. Philip was hired by US Air (now American Airlines) in 1986 and retired as captain on the DC9.  After retirement he coached P.E. at Hillsboro Intermediate School and retired for the second time from Itasca Independent School District in 2017.

Philip’s family was his life, and he was completely devoted to them. He coached many teams of T-ball, Little Dribblers and PIPS and attended countless games, dance and music recitals. He taught Sunday School for First Baptist Church Youth Department and helped host many youth parties, outings and Discipleship Now. He loved planning fun vacations for the family and basking on the beach or hiking through the mountains and was always up for a good round of golf.  Philip & Terri also loved hosting family reunions, the last being the Horn Easter Egg Hunt 2019. Philip was the family grill master and visitors always requested Phil’s famous BBQ burgers. His newest love and joy were his two grandchildren, Raylan and Cassie.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Wanda Colene Crawford & Ellis Luther Crawford, brother, Luther Michael Crawford.

Philip is survived by his wife, Terri Lynn Crawford. His children, Cameron Crouser and husband Coley of Lorena.  Addison Crawford and wife Stephanie of Hillsboro.  Madeleine Cain and Colton of Waxahachie. His grandchildren, Raylan Crawford & Cassie Cain. His brother-in-law, Roy Brown and wife Kim of Sabinal, TX. His sister-in-law, Lori Atwell and husband Jeff of Hillsboro. His niece, McCall Hubenak and husband Reid and baby, Lainee. His niece, Chesney Brown. His niece, Misty Crawford.  His niece, Kristy Crawford. His niece, Tiffany Jones and husband Jay & family. His nephew, Jacob Brown.
