Phillip Wayne Bandy

Phillip Wayne Bandy, 78, of Hillsboro passed away December 23,2022.  A graveside service will be held Friday, December 30, 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Garden of Memory. Visitation will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall in Hillsboro.

Wayne was born December 13, 1944, in Long Beach, CA, to Nodie and Marie (Preissinger) Bandy. He graduated high school in Mineral Wells in 1963. Wayne worked for J. B. White Company at Mineral Wells and Nacogdoches then moved to Hillsboro in 1969. He retired from the Hillsboro Fire Department after serving for twenty-five years. Wayne married his adoring wife Yolanda (Flores) Bandy on September 18, 1971. She preceded him in death on May 18, 2021. Wayne loved listening to music, reading, and golfing. He enjoyed playing with his band, Borderline, for many years. He always had a wide smile, raucous laugh, and colorful story for everyone and livened up every room he was in with his larger-than-life personality.

Wayne is survived by his son Ross Bandy and wife Lynn of Weatherford; daughter Lisa Young and husband John of Weatherford; daughter Erin Clark of Denton; son Thomas Bandy and wife Christi of Burleson; mother-in-law Mary Flores, brother-in-law Eddie Flores Jr., and brother-in-law Earl Carmichael of Hillsboro; brother-in-law Joe Flores and wife Patricia of Robinson; brother Larry Bandy and wife Ann of Deleon; sister Suzan Van Eaton of Lake Stevens, Washington; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
