Phyllis (Pelham) Cole Mattingly passed peacefully in her home surrounded by love and family on Friday, June 30, 2023. She was 65.
Phyllis lived most of the past thirty-five years in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was co-owner of Shiloh Machine, LLC with her beloved husband, Kevin Mattingly. Phyllis was a practicing Lutheran who loved the Lord with all her heart. She enjoyed crafting and travel. Boating and the freedom on the water also brought her much joy. The greatest joy in life for Phyllis was giving. Her greatest moments were in giving to others less fortunate. Phyllis also loved being a business owner and worked with immense pride alongside Kevin. She will often be spoken of and never forgotten.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Dawn Napier; her brother, Steven Cole; and her parents, Marvin Wayne and Shirley Lynn (Welch) Cole. Survivors include her husband, Kevin Mattingly of Hillsboro; her daughter, Kelly Dawn Daisy; sisters, Penny Keim of Hillsboro, Tammy Stapp of North Richland Hills, and Karen Morton of Abilene, Kansas; her brothers, Rick Shaw and Dennis Cole of Abilene, Kansas, James Welch of Tyler; and sole heir nephew, Jimmy Dean “J.D.” Welch who works as foreman for Shiloh Machine, LLC. Additional survivors include son, Tracy Fite of Lewisville and granddaughter, Kyra Napier of Friendswood. Phyllis also leaves behind her treasured canines, boxer, Bailey and English bulldog, Daisy.
