Posey Richard was born July 19, 1938 in Earth, McLennan County, Texas to W. H. and Leta Posey Herring. At an early age he joined the Methodist Church. In 1956 he graduated from Bynum High School and attended Navarro Junior College from 1956-1957. He served in the U. S. Army and the National Guard. On May 12, 1959 he married Jannie Rose and she preceded him in death in July 1996. To this union was born one child that passed away in infancy. He found a second chance at happiness when he wed Glenda Baker on March 16, 2004 and Glenda died with him on May 8, 2004. He was a member of the Lone Star Performance Buick Club where he won various awards. Posey Richard loved his family and loved the land. When he was working at other jobs, he would come back on weekends and help his Dad farm. It broke our hearts to hear that he was gone but he didn?t go alone for part of us went with him the day God called him home. He was also preceded in death by his dad, W. H. Ted Herring on January 12, 2001 and his sister, Dawn Marie Ferguson on September 12, 1999. Survivors include his mother, Leta Posey Herring of Brandon; two sisters and brother-in-law, Dolores Herring Snipes of Brandon and Gloria J. and Charles Odum of Lewisville; seven nieces and nephews; two grand-nephews; a grand-niece; and his newly acquired family, Ricky Baker, Theresa Thomas, Mark Baker, Tamara Goode, and Michelle Rose.
