R. C. Myers

R. C. Charlie Myers, 89, of Hillsboro died Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Charlie ws born May 10, 1918 in Arkansas the son of Charlie Lee and Rebecca Simmons Myers. In his youth he moved to Texas. In 1938 he married Pauline Offield. During WWII he served his country in the United States Army. He worked in construction for many years before working for the City of Hillsboro where he was a street supervisor for 15 years. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Leon Myers; sister, Nola Surginer; granddaughter, Stacy Sykora; and grandson, Henry Myers. Survivors include the mother of his children, Pauline Myers of Aquilla; six children, Kathy Shipman and husband, Bob, of Fort Worth, Marion Allen of Arlington, Tommy Myers and wife, Cookie, of Whitney, Patty Ward of Whitney, Ronnie Myers and wife, Diane, of Aquilla, and Sandra Sykora and husband, Ronnie, of West; two sisters, Katherine Boyd and husband, Buster, of Sherman and Louise Durham of Waco; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
