Rachel Lynn Summers

Rachel Lynn Summers, 28, of Whitney, passed away on May 21, 2020, at her residence.   The family will hold a memorial service at 10:00 a.m, Saturday, May 30, 2020, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Whitney with Rev. Greg Johnson officiating.

Rachel was born on August 26, 1991, in Waco, to Patrick Summers and Janita (Swinscoe) Johnson .  She grew up in Whitney and was a 2009 Whitney High School graduate.  She loved dancing, riding horses, and mudding in her truck as well as being outdoors, at the lake, and jumping off the cliffs.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Tessa Michelle Summer; a brother Zachery Bryan Summers; a grandmother, Billie Swinscoe; grandparents, William and Mary Summers and an aunt, Renae Montes.

Survivors include her fiancée, Melisa Anderson of Lorena; her father, Patrick Summers of Whitney and her mother, Janita Johnson of Whitney; grandfather, Clarence Swinscoe of Whitney as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
