Raleigh Wayne Rogers, 82, of Hillsboro passed away Sunday, January 16, 2005 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Raleigh was born May 29, 1922 in Hillsboro, the son of George Sherman and Lula Pearl McCoy Rogers. On August 29, 1941 he married Reba Walker in Mexia, Texas. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro where he served as a deacon and taught 12 year old Sunday School. He was a tax assessor collector for the City of Hillsboro, volunteered as a police officer, and served as volunteer fire department chief. In 1985 he retired as business manger at Hill College in Hillsboro. Preceding him in death was his parents, one brother, and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Reba Rogers of Hillsboro; a son, Don Rogers and wife, Gena, of Burleson; three grandsons, Richard Rogers and wife, Robyn, of Arlington, Jeff Rogers of Houston, and Josh Rogers of Burleson; and three great-grandsons, Harrison Rogers of Arlington, Caleb Rogers of Houston, and Griffin Rogers of Arlington. Also survived by Gayle Walker Forstner and husband, Charles, of San Antonio.
