Ralph George

Ralph Weir George, 83, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Titus Regional Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Amy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, at the funeral home.

He was born August 26, 1932 to Van T. George and Mayna Sybol (Weir) George and grew up in the Midway community outside of Milford. He graduated from Hillsboro High. Afterwards, he attended Texas A&M and graduated with a doctor of veterinary medicine in 1955. He entered the Air Force for two years. After leaving the Air Force in 1957, he started his Vet practice in Hillsboro in 1958 and continued treating animals up until a few weeks prior to his death.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Sharon George; parents, Van T. and Mayna George; brothers, Van T. George, Jr. and Jerry Vance George.

He is survived by his sister and her husband, John and Georgia Cunningham; sons and their wives, Jerry and Gina George, Terry and Debbie George, and Robert and Margaret George; daughter, Teresa Sullivan; grandchildren, Matthew George, Cody Harvey, Blake George, Jonathan George, Katie Foster, Robert George, Jr., Jackson George, Georgie Holland, Hank Holland, Shea Sullivan, and Keely Sullivan; great-grandchildren, William, Waylon, Yazmine, and Landon; niece and her husband, Leah Kay and Jeremy Lange.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Line Street United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 1665, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
