Biography

Randal “Randy” Jones, 61, of Hillsboro passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Hillcrest in Waco. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Melissa Graham of Line Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Frost Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to service time at the funeral home.

Born June 8, 1956 in Weimer, he was the son of Robert Cole and Suzanne (Brown) Jones. Most of his life was spent in Hillsboro. In 1977, Randy was united in marriage to Cheryl Richardson. For 28 years he was employed by the City of Hillsboro in the water department.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert Jones and Suzanne Sims; and daughter, Wendy Jane Melvin.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Cheryl Jones of Hillsboro; daughter, Samantha Deaton of Hillsboro; two sisters, Christi Mayr and husband, David, of Joshua and Paula Carter and husband, Jeff, of Dallas; four grandchildren, Kaleb Melvin, Kallie Melvin, Kade Deaton, and Randal Mantooth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
