Randy Ashcraft

Randy Ashcraft,65, of Whitney passed away August 2, 2014 at Providence Hospital in Waco. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Randy was born March 14, 1949 in Waco to Charles E. and Lanette (Sowders) Ashcraft. He was a graduate of Meridian High School and married Doris Gilmore on June 30, 1972. He was employed with Frozen Food Express and later went to work as a long-haul driver for 32 years before retiring from Joe Warlick Trucking.

Randy liked to play chess, cook, watch John Wayne movies and getting together with family and friends as they were very important to him. He was always smiling, joking and happy; he never met a stranger. Randy was a member of First Baptist Church in Meridian. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Randa Marie Ashcraft .

Randy is survived by his wife, Doris; daughters Christy Barber of Waxahachie and Brandy Morrow of Whitney; brothers Keith Ashcraft of Austin and Kevin Ashcraft of Rockport; sisters Sharlene Remington of Granbury, Sue Johnson of Meridian, and Beverly Landon of Canton; granddaughters Brittany Barber of Spokane, Washington, Shelby Barber of Waxahachie, Audrey Ashcraft, Jordyn Morrow and Grayce Morrow of Whitney; many nieces and nephews.
