Ray Earl Boyd

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ray E. Boyd in Sherman, Texas. His health had rapidly declined in the past months, and he finally succumb at 2:53 A.M., Sunday, October 23, 2022.

Mr. Boyd was born June 6, 1927, in Woodbury, Texas. He is survived by his wife of seventy-two years, Kathy Boyd; his children, Glenn (Chrys), DeAnn (Scott) Polk, Larry (Corianne), and Lori (Carl) Akins; his beloved grandchildren, Reagan and Shara Boyd, Cory and Monica Boyd, Andy and Rosario Boyd, Tracie and Chris Sizemore, Jeffrey Polk, Will Boyd, Greg and Breanne Boyd, Ricky Boyd, Annie Boyd, Skylar Akins, and Caleb Akins; great-grandchildren, Sharanya Boyd, Harper Boyd, Ryan and Lainey Boyd, Eva and Bruce Boyd, Brendan and Luna Boyd, Braeden Sizemore, Cullen Sizemore, Zackary Polk, and Sydney Polk.

Ray and his wife were devout Christians, toiling in the fields of the Lord for more than seventy years. His loss is excruciating but we rejoice in the reward he is now enjoying. While he will be missed terribly, we, his family and friends, are secure in the knowledge that he will be waiting for us in the arms on the Lord, destined to stroll through the streets of heaven for eternity.

A celebration of life will take place at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Western Heights Church of Christ in Sherman, Texas.
