Raymond was born in Dallas, on December 18, 1947, to Jean and Harry Davidson and was later adopted by John Howell. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1966 and served until 1967 when he joined the reserves.
In 1981, he married the love of his life, Linda, and they were married 29 years until her passing.
He became a fireman and later a commercial tire salesman.
Then in 1982, he became an ordained minister. Ministry was always his true passion and mission in life. In the last couple of years he drove a school bus for Aquilla ISD where he so enjoyed being with the kids.
He always had a smile for everyone, tried to make the best of any situation and would go out of his way to help anyone. He never shied away from sharing Christ with anyone. Spending time with family and helping others were two of his most important pastimes that he enjoyed.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Linda; and a brother, Johnny
