Raymond Kent Mouser of Hillsboro, Texas, encircled by his loving family, left this life for his heavenly home on September 11, 2013. The world is down one great man, but heaven has gained one great cowboy.

Kent was born in Vernon, Texas on February 23, 1937. In 1947, the family moved to a farm near Kress, Texas. He graduated from Kress High School and attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas. In his younger years, he moved to Dallas and later took a job with Graybar Electric in New York City. It was on a flight from Dallas to New York that he met his future wife, Janice Peters. They were married in 1965 and soon moved to Kansas City. A few years later, they bought a farm and ranch in Northwest Missouri, and Kent, the son of a farmer, returned to his roots. He went to work for Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in 1984 and in 1988 fulfilled his dream of moving his family back to his native Texas. He retired from FDIC in 2005 and bought some gorgeous acreage near Hillsboro, Texas where he contentedly lived for the rest of his life. Kent was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. He loved spending time with his friends and family. Kent enjoyed his farm and ranch and his cattle, horses, cats and dogs. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, people listened. He was a loved and respected member of the community. His heart was as big as the state he loved so dearly, and he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Kent was preceded in death by his Dad and Mother, Raymond and Hettie Mouser; niece, Debbie Brinick and nephew, Travis George.
