Raymond Podsednik, Jr., 72, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015, in Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Rev. Paul Clark of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Raymond was born February 14, 1943 in Pensacola, Florida to Raymond Louis, Sr. and Dora (Williams) Podsednik. A graduate of Hillsboro High School, he went on to attend Hill College on a basketball scholarship until being drafted into the United Army. He served his country in the Viet Nam War from 1964-1966. For over 25 years, Raymond was employed with Sears in Pasadena, TX. Shortly after his retirement in 1998, he moved to The Woodlands to be with his son, Jason, and his family. He later moved to Oklahoma to be closer to his son, Craig, and his family. Raymond was an avid tennis fan and music enthusiast.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his two sons, Craig Podsednik and wife, Becky, of Edmond, OK and Jason Podsednik and Dana Hahn, of The Woodlands; grandson, Bradley Ray Podsednik of Houston; great-grandson, Jaxon Podsednik of Houston; aunt, Beady Taylor of Hillsboro; and uncle, Wayne Williams of Itasca.
