Reba Catherine (Hamilton) Hurt

Reba Catherine Hurt age 69, entered the gates of Heaven on March 25, 2024. Graveside services will take place at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Covington Cemetery, Covington, Texas. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

She was born in Camp Wood, Texas on April 13,1954 to Lillie And Franklin Hamilton. Reba married the love of her life, Arthur Hurt, on February 23,1970 in Covington, Texas. They started their family in 1971. They had seven children, Arthur Jr, Catherine Louis, Melissa Ann, Karen Lea, John Louis, James Everett Lionel, and Reba Catherine Renie. Reba was a dedicated wife, mother and Memaw. She was a mother who always knew what each child needed to make them feel special. Reba was always a homemaker and a home for all is what she made. A strong woman, Reba fought a hard long battle against a disease that had no cure.

Reba is preceded in death by her first-born son, Arthur Jr.; her parents, Franklin and Lillie Hamilton; and brothers, August, Simon and Howard; and three sisters. She is survived by husband, Arthur Hurt of Blum, Texas, sons, John Hurt of Blum, Texas, James and wife Maria of Blum, Texas; daughters, Cathye and husband Brett Thomas of Nevada, Texas, Melissa Hurt of Blum, Texas, Reba Catherine Renie Hurt of Blum Texas, Karen and husband Grady of Itasca, Texas; twenty-five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; brothers Hal, Cecil and Van; and sisters, Leona and Marie.
