Reba Louise (Walker) Rogers

Reba Louise Rogers, age 99, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2020, in Hillsboro. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Ken James officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro. Face mask and social distancing are required.

Reba was born March 11, 1921, in Memphis, Texas to Malcolm Scott and Robbye (Reynolds) Walker. She grew up in the Groesbeck area and graduated from Gladewater High School in 1939. After high school she moved to Hillsboro and worked for Andrew’s Café where she met her future husband, Raleigh. They were united in marriage on August 29, 1941, and he preceded her in death on January 16. 2005. After working at Andrew’s Café, she worked for Martin McDonalds before going to work for Citizens National Bank and eventually retiring as vice president in 1986. Reba was a very faithful and active member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro for 81 years where she served in various roles. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and Baylor Bears.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Josh Rogers on January 23, 2019.

Reba is survived by her son, Don Rogers and wife, Gena; brother, Norman Walker; sisters, Bobbye Hall, Susie Spears and Gayle Forstner; grandsons, Richard Rogers and wife, Robyn and Jeff Rogers and wife, Liz; and 5 great-grandchildren, Harrison, Caleb, Trent, Griffin and Chloe.
