Rebecca Ardell Underwood was born September 14, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas as the oldest child of Eugene David Huckabee and Mildred Louise Smith. She passed on February 8, 2022, in Corpus Christi, TX. She was 70 years, 4 months, and 25 days old. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas, with interment at the Peoria Cemetery.
On May 20, 1971, she married Paul D. Underwood of Hillsboro, Texas and had a beautiful marriage of over 50 years together. She was blessed with three wonderful children and ten beautiful grandchildren. She also was privileged to have hundreds of dear friends she loved dearly.
Rebecca is survived by her husband, Paul Underwood of Corpus Christi, three children, Phil and Denise Underwood of Odem, Texas, Kelly Underwood of Dripping Springs, Texas and daughter Kimberly and Justin Clowdus of Corpus Christi, Texas. Phil and Denise are the parents of Katie, Christina, and Cody Underwood. Kelly is the father of Chance, Aubrey, and Lilly Underwood. Kimberly and Justin are the parents of Rachel, Kaley, Miley, and Dalton Clowdus. She is also survived by brothers Steve Cumbie and wife Toni of Weatherford, Texas, Ken Huckabee and wife Patricia of Pipe Creek, Texas and sisters Karen Prendergast, Teresa Huckabee and Carla Carroll and husband Paul Carroll, all of Newark, Texas and Jessika Taylor of Dripping springs, Texas. She was preceded by her parents and her sister Debbie Garcia.
Rebecca is a 1971 graduate of Paxton High School in Paxton, Illinois. Over her career she was a licensed barber, quality assurance inspector at Dell Computer and retired from Marble Falls ISD. She also owned and operated a construction business for several years. Her proudest role was that of wife, mother, and grandmother for over 50 years. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution. She volunteered working with newborn infants in the local area hospitals. Rebecca gracefully served as the First Lady of Texas Freemasonry in 2020.
Everyone that knew Rebecca knew her love for life with her family and friends. Pallbearers will be Phil Underwood, Kelly Underwood, Steve Cumbie, Ken Huckabee, Chance Underwood, Cody Underwood.
