Rene' Kemp

Rene' Dollar Kemp, 52, of Hillsboro peacefully passed from this life on January 8, 2009 surrounded by family at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Rene' was born in Waco, Texas on September 3, 1956 and spent the majority of her life in Hillsboro. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1975 with honors and from Hill College Summa Cum Laude in 1977. On April 4, 1978 she was united in marriage to Stephen Kemp of Hillsboro and had two children Keri and Justin. After staying at home until her children graduated, she then pursued her career in education at the University of Texas at Arlington graduating with highest honors with a bachelor's degree in education. She taught math for eight years at Hillsboro Intermediate School and truly loved her profession. She had a passion for helping shape the future of her students and experienced great happiness sharing their success. Rene' found great personal joy being involved in her families' lives and had many humorous stories of great times shared with them, as well as her many co-workers and friends. Rene' was always thinking of others and received great joy from helping out wherever needed. She was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ and enjoyed fellowship with her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Venita Dollar of Hillsboro. Survivors thankful for having shared her life include her husband of 30 years, Stephen Kemp and their two children, Keri Kemp of Ft. Worth, and Justin Kemp of Killeen. Survivors also include her four siblings, Teresa Boyd and husband Kevin of Hillsboro, D'Ette Beruck and husband Andy of South Dakota, Jason Dollar and wife Debbie of Louisiana and Jack Dollar and wife Donna of Hillsboro; beloved in-law's, Grover and Jemmie Kemp of Brandon, brother's in-law Galen Kemp and wife Cindy of Waxahachie, Gary Kemp and wife Merry of Hewitt, Phillip Kemp and wife Debbi of Oklahoma, Greg Kemp and wife Holly of Arlington as well as numerous nieces and a nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
