Reva Jo Tekell

Reva Jo Tekell, age 89, of Bynum, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Garden Terrace, in Ft. Worth, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro, with Rev. Paul Clark officiating. She will lie in state on Monday, March 25, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Reva Jo was born November 2, 1929 in Brandon, Texas to John W. and Florence (McCasland) Patterson. Reva Jo was united in marriage to Adron Dean Tekell on January 3, 1948. They lived in Milford, Texas, where Adron farmed and Reva worked at the box factory. They later moved to Brandon, Texas and then to Bynum, Texas where they continued to farm and ranch. Together, they raised 3 boys. They attended Brandon Baptist Church before joining Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Adron preceded her in death, December 24, 2005.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clarence Patterson of Sherman, and Roy Shelton Patterson of Hillsboro; sister, Claradell Vest of Hewitt.

Survivors included her 3 sons, Ricky and wife Mary Dawn of Weatherford , Texas, David Tekell and wife Tammie of South Ogdon, Utah, and Ronny and wife Amanda of Tyler, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Haley McLaughlin and husband Barry, Chanse Tekell, Kaylin Tekell, Emily Tekell, and Justin Tekell; 1 great grandchild, Logan McLaughlin; sister, Francis Marie Patterson Mills of Rockwall, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews.

The Tekell family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses and aids at Garden Terrace in Ft. Worth, and Earl Kelly and his staff at Encompass Hospice in Ft worth for their excellent care.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Reva Jo’s memory to Walnut Street Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1144 Hillsboro, Texas.
