Rev. C. M. Huff, 78, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2014, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Misael Alvarado officiating. Burial will follow at Peoria Cemetery in Peoria. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014, at the funeral home.

Born June 14, 1936 in Weedville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Frank and Izola (Kemmer) Huff. He grew up in Pennsylvania and moved to Illinois after high school. In 1957, C. M. was united in marriage to Janet Erlenbach in Illinois. At that time, he began his preaching career at different churches and started Bible College in 1967. Rev. Huff shared God’s word with churches in Illinois, Texas, and Louisiana for over 33 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of Hillsboro Church of The Nazarene. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing home improvements, traveling, camping, and cheering on the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He was very devoted to his family who will miss him dearly. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Donald and Eugene Huff; and grandson, Sean Murray.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Janet Huff of Hillsboro; five daughters, Kathy Porter and husband, Gary, of Hillsboro, Kim Falkner and husband, Ronnie, of Hillsboro, Karlie Heidt and husband, Jeff, of New Jersey; Karen Chavana and husband, Al, of Merkel, and Kristi Holcomb and husband, Randy, of Louisiana; two brothers, Gerald Huff and wife, Louise, and Lew Huff and wife, Sue, all of Pennsylvania; sister, Jan Lawson and husband, Glen, of California; grandchildren, Becki and Michael Hale, Elizabeth and Christopher Jones, Jennifer and Christopher Sproles, Matthew and Shannon Falkner, Melissa and Tyler Mercer, Olivia Lupo, Lily, Drew, Clay, and Tessa Heidt, Summer and Christopher Taylor, Siera Murray, Alexus Chavana, and Emily and Faith Holcomb; six great-grandchildren, Grayson, Cameron, Ellie, Abby, Levi, and Willow; sister-in-law, Jane Huff of Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, David Erlenbach of Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.
