Richard Love

Richard M. "Dick" Love passed away on January 3, 2006 in Arlington. He was the son of Nathaniel Nelson and Helen Beecher Love. He moved to Arlington, Texas in 1953 and began a career with General Motors until his retirement in 1987 when he then moved to Whitney. He was a 16 year member of the Arlington Police Department Reserves, retiring in 1977; was a member of former radio assist group in Whitney and assisted local authorities with search and rescue efforts; very active in the Pioneer Cove Area of Lake Whitney; was a published poet; former youth bowling coach and an avid supporter of 2604 Volunteer Fire Department; very active in the Masonic Lodge #355 AF and AM., member of American Legion Post #522; served in the Naval Reserves and a member of Fort Graham Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Jean Love on December 23, 1999; and two brothers, Dr. Robert Love and Nathaniel Nate Love. Jr. Survivors include his children, James Love and wife, Sharon of Arlington, Holly Love Ginn and husband, James of Mansfield, Scott M. Love and wife , Donna of Midlothian; sister, Nancy Rhodes of Dallas; granddaughter, Jill Love of Dallas; grandsons, Justin Ginn and Hunter Ginn of Mansfield.
