Richard Douglas Mullens

On December 1, 2022, Richard Douglas Mullens, was lifted to his heavenly garden in God's house. He passed away in his home in Whitney at the age of 78. Richard was born on May 28, 1944 in Mexia, Texas. During his lifetime he enjoyed many different adventures including working for Coca Cola USA for 32 years, retiring in 1998 He served our country in Signal Corps in the Army in Italy and regaled us with many stories of his service. He included photography, bird watching, gardening, home building, lots of Macgyver projects according to the children, and being an avid RV traveler which included adventures too numerous to list to his accomplishments. He made many lifelong friends wherever they roamed and hosted many a happy hour gathering at their home here in Whitney.

He was preceded by mom, Doris Smith Mullens; dad, James Ray Mullens; and sibling, James Ray Mullens III.

Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Brenda Wilson Mullens; son, Richie (Nikky) Mullens; grandchildren, Korry and Kole; great grandchildren Kolbi and Eli.

Dick will be sorely missed by all of us who knew and loved him and by his family, friends, neighbors, associates from all his walks of life. Keep all those birds flying and flowers and plants flourishing. We will see you on the other side.
