Richard Sexton

Richard Sexton, 55, of Aquilla passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Darrell Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Clifton Memorial Park in Clifton. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at the funeral home.

Richard was born on July 3, 1958, in Texas City, Texas, to Lloyd James, Sr. and Joyce Faylene (Pilant) Sexton. On August 20, 1977, he married Karen Kelley in Clifton. Richard enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren, who meant the world to him. He and his sons enjoyed competing in barbeque cook-offs. Some of Richard's favorite pastimes were fishing and watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Richard was employed by the Aquilla I.S.D., where he worked for the past 10 years. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Bobby Smith; and niece, Tammy Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Sexton of Aquilla; children, Jason Sexton and wife, Nicole, of Whitney and Joshua Sexton and Colby Sexton, both of Aquilla; brother, Lloyd James Sexton, Jr. and wife, Pat, of Valley Mills; sister, Suzanne Smith and husband, Wayne, of Belton; grandchildren, Jaxon Sexton and Jacey Sexton, both of Whitney; and many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and a host of friends.
