Richard Smith Sills

Richard Smith Sills, 96, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Homestead Nursing and Rehab in Hillsboro.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Pastor Tommy Prud’homme officiating.

Richard was born February 12, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, his parents Charles and Martha Sills, and sister Erva Campbell.

He is survived by his four children and spouses, David & Phyllis Sills, Linda & Chris Lutterloh, Louanne & Scott Tiner, and Donald Sills, his nephew Glenn Campbell
as well as his grandchildren, Christopher, Charles, Michelle, Jason, Jeffrey, Jillian, Heather, and Lacey and his 11 great grandchildren.

He worked at WXYZ in Detroit on shows including Soupy Sales and was the owner of a TV repair business in Detroit. Richard and his wife were founders of the Metro-Detroit Unit of WBCCI, of which he was a former president. He was a proud member of the North Texas Airstream Community. He loved to travel in their Airstream.
