Biography

Richard Lynn Ward, 62, of Hillsboro passed away early Saturday morning, January 19, 2019, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Derrell Surface officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the funeral home.

Richard was Born September 19, 1956 in Whitney, Texas. He was the son of Richard Fountain Ward and Mary Claudine (Thomas). Richard grew up in the Hillsboro and Whitney area. On July 18, 1975 he was united in marriage to Dianna Pope in Hillsboro. He was a avid fisherman and enjoyed working on things, and was a jack of all trades. He had a very big heart , was always willing to help anyone he could. He along with his wife was the owner and operator of Rock Bottom Patio, from 2000-2018, and Lil Bit Country R.V. Park, which they started in 2001 and were still operating.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Richard is survived by his spouse, Dianna Ward of Hillsboro, mother-in-law, Shirley Pope of Hillsboro; brother, Jimmie Ward of Hearne, Texas; sister Thelma Salgado and husband Marcos of Hearne, Texas, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
