Rickie Lynn Stansberry, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully with his family around him on June 30, 2018, in Dallas. Friends and family will gather to celebrate his life with a memorial service at 2 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2018, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney. Burial will follow at Smith Bend-Coon Creek Cemetery in Bosque County. Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney are in charge of the services.
Rick was born in Clifton on September 28, 1951, to Joseph and Thera (Williams) Stansberry.
He grew up in Andrews, Texas and graduated from Andrews High Shcool. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country for 23 years, serving in both Vietnam and the Gulf War. Most of his years in service were spent in Tucson, Arizona before receiving full military retirement as a Master Sargent.
On March 4, 1977, he married Teresa Ann Myers and together they raised four children: Kyle and Holly Bettilyon of Dallas, Rick Stansberry, Jr., of Dallas, Nick and Danny Stansberry of Grandbury and Dannye Stansberry of Palestine.
He is survived by his wife; his children; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; his sister Sheila Wheeler Hill of Whitney; his twin brother, Joe Stansberry of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
