Ridley Jackson Dickinson, 86, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Mr. David Crumpton officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Ridley was born April 17, 1926 in Chatt to Forney Franklin and Tennie Bell (Wood) Dickinson. He grew up in and attended schools in Chatt. A very talented musician, Ridley played in various bands with Willie Nelson, Charlie Walker, and Charlie Pride. He enjoyed his life of traveling and playing music. In 1995, he retired and moved back to Hillsboro after being gone since 1956. Riding his boat on the lake was a hobby that he enjoyed doing. He was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, David Harold Dickinson on August 2, 2003; brother, Floyd Dickinson; two sisters, Minnie Bell Dickinson and Ethel Goodman; and his companion of many years, June Crumpton.

Survivors include his son, Ridley Don Dickinson and wife, Sue, of Iredell; daughter-in-law, Deborah Dickinson-Pugh and husband, Roger, of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Scott Dickinson and wife, Shannon, of China Spring, Jason Dickinson of Hillsboro, Brandy Dickinson and Tiffany Dickinson both of Fort Worth, Marcie Pledger and husband, Brian, of Hillsboro, and Matthew Dickinson of Iredell; and eight great-grandchildren.
