Rita Ann Mooney

Rita Ann Mooney, 55 of Whitney passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021, in Waco. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney.  A visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Peoria Cemetery following the service

Rita Ann Mooney was born in Ft. Worth, TX on April 12, 1966, to Gene and Anna Dunlap. She was one of 3 children.  Growing up, Rita was an outgoing, fun loving person. She always wanted to help others.   Life brought her many joys , but it wasn't until she met the love of her life that she found true happiness. Starsky and Rita met in 1993 and married in 1995. They shared 28 wonderful years. During that time they had 2 beautiful children and 5 amazing grandchildren.  They were the light of her life.  Family was everything to Rita.  She hosted countless family get togethers. No event was too small to be celebrated.   She celebrated life each and every day.  If you knew her, you knew the person she was. Kind, loving, funny, and always going the extra mile for those she loved.  Rita left this world on June 21st to join her mom and dad and all those who've gone before her in eternal life.

Though her light here on earth has gone out, she will forever shine down on those of us who carry her memory in our hearts. Rita is survived by her husband Starsky Mooney of Whitney, TX. Her daughter Briana Williams of Whitney, TX, her son Michael Mooney and wife Raylee of Whitney,TX, her brother Albert Dunlap and wife Davina of Ft. Worth, TX, her brother Tommy Dunlap of Whitney, TX, her grandchildren Nevaeh Bible,  Hayliana Williams,  Wayne Williams,  Cyann Mooney, and Cassidy Mooney as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were like family.
