Robert M. Dollar

Robert M. “Bob” Dollar, 88 of Whitney passed away February 8, 2012.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Whitney Church of Christ with Mr. Bruce Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.

Bob was born on August 2, 1923 in Bynum, Texas to the late Albert and Margaret Adams Dollar. On April 13, 1945, he married Merle Dollar in Hillsboro. During World War II, Bob served his country in the United States Army. After retiring as president of White Swan Institutional Foods in Lubbock in 1989 he moved to Whitney. Bob was a member of the Whitney Church of Christ and had served as an elder for 19 years.

Survivors include his wife, Merle of Whitney; children, Judy Thomas and husband, Gene of Edmond, OK., Buck Dollar and wife, Pam of Wheeler, Dennis Dollar and wife, Cathy of Mascoutah, IL., Steve Dollar and wife, Gina of North Richland Hills; sisters, Agnes Keeton of Hillsboro, Evalena Jobe of Cleburne, Nell Gregory of Hillsboro; 9 grandchildren, Shannon Tony, Ashley Thomas, Stephanie Brewster, Penny Clark, Ben Clark, Nick Dollar, Mallory Dollar, Alayna Dollar, Natalie Dollar; 7 great grandchildren, Dacey, Rylan, Jake, Ava, Breck, Dalton and Brooke.
