Robert “Bob” Faubus 85, of Whitney passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Mr. Bruce Martin officiating. Visitation will be held
from 6:00- 8:00 PM, on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Whitney Memorial Park.
Robert was born on March 12, 1930 in Lingleville, Texas to the late Robert Emory and Ona (Gibbs) Faubus. He was raised in the Lingleville area and moved to Waco when he was 16.
Robert joined the United States Army and served in the Korean War. In 1957 he married Lucille Harper, they were married for 58 years. He was a truck driver and drove for 55 years, when he was not working he enjoyed watching wrestling and old western movies. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Martha Etheridge and Della Simpson.
Survivors include his wife Lucille Faubus of Whitney, children, Bobby Faubus of Bastrop and Dell Faubus of Bastrop; brother Max Faubus of Bastrop; sister Madeline Goff of Waco, and many nieces and nephews.
