Robert Goodman

Major Robert A. Goodman, USAF, Ret., age 87, of Levelland, Texas passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Levelland. Graveside services with military honors will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro.

Robert was born March 27, 1926 in Hillsboro to Joe C. and Hattie (Boyd) Goodman. He graduated from Hillsboro High School before entering the United States Air Force where he served for 20 years, attaining the rank of Major. He married Billie Smith on December 2, 1949 in Elko, Nevada. Robert received a Bachelors Degree from Texas Christian University in 1976 and worked as a safety engineer for LTV, Bell Helicopter, the City of Irving and the City of Plano. He and Billie then moved to Levelland to be near their family. Robert was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gillam Goodman; sisters, Betty Cunningham, Luella Langford and Margaret Parks.

Robert is survived by his wife, Billie Goodman, daughter and son in law, Cindy and R. H. Reaves, grandson and wife, Zach and Robyn Reaves, great grandchildren, Lilly Kay Reaves and Mason Austin Reaves, all of Levelland, Texas.
