Bob was the son of Walter and Alethea Seed Kilpatrick. He grew up in Rochester, Michigan where he completed high school. Following school, he entered the U. S. Army and completed basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri before being stationed at Ft. Hood. While at Ft. Hood, he met his future wife, Jimmie Waller on a blind date. The couple was married on Nov. 26, 1963 in Hillsboro. After living in Rochester, MI for a time the couple settled in Hillsboro in the mid 1960s. Bob worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for 33 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro. In addition to his family, his church family and postal patrons held a special place in his heart. An active drag racer and antique car buff, he also enjoyed staying in touch with his high school classmates and Army buddies from Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Kilpatrick of Hillsboro; two sons, Robert Kilpatrick, Jr. of Amarillo and David Kilpatrick of Hillsboro; one daughter, Susan Teer and husband, Rusty, of Chiang Mai, Thailand; a sister, Marian Beattie and husband, Bob, of San Carlos, CA; three brothers-in-law - Orval Waller and wife, Nikki, of Dawson; Bobby Waller and wife, Loretta, of Conroe; and James Waller and wife, Sue, of Ft.
