Robert Maass, 38, of Bynum passed away January 15, 2005. Robert was born October 31, 1966 in Hillsboro, the son of James and Mary Ann Shirey Maass. He was a lifetime resident of Hill County. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1985, Hill College, and received a Business Degree from Southwest Texas State University in 1990. A farmer and rancher, Robert and his family were honored as Farm Family of the Year in 2004 by the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of St. Mary?s Episcopal Church in Hillsboro. An avid hunter and fisherman, Robert was a member of the National Rifle Association and was also a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Preceding him in death was his grandfather, Herbert ?Sonny? Maass, and a sister, Kay Maass Bailey. Survivors include his parents, James and Mary Ann Maass of Bynum; his sister, Nancy Boden and husband, Dave, of Weatherford; his grandparents, Lydia Maass of Malone and Dr. & Mrs. Robert Shirey of Hillsboro; three nephews, Josh Birdwell of Bynum, Marshall Bailey of Bynum, Matthew Boden of Weatherford; and an aunt and uncle, Hank & Peggy Strauch of Whitney.
