Biography

Robert "Bud" McCown 80, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2015, in Houston, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Bethlehem Cemetery near Whitney. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved brother and sister. The family will hold a memorial service in Houston at a later date

He was born on September 4, 1935, in Whitney, Texas to the late Tal and Vera (Davis) McCown. Robert graduated from Waco High School, and attended Baylor University. He then served in the United States Army, and was primarily stationed in Germany. After returning to Texas, he began a career in commercial banking. On May 21, 1982 he married Nami Ha. He retired in 2007 after eighteen years with BBVA Compass. Robert led an active life, enjoying running, playing tennis, and water skiing on Lake Whitney. He was a kindhearted man who lived his life with great integrity, and he inspired respect and love from those who encountered him, both professionally and personally.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tal McCown; his mother, Vera; his sister, Virginia Jane Boswell; his brother, Walter; and his nephew, Duke Boswell.

He is survived by his wife, Nami; his son, Alex; his nephew, Ott Boswell; his niece, Bette Rothermel; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
