Robert Retz

Robert Allen “Bobby” Retz, 62, of Hillsboro passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, at his residence. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 a.m. - Noon on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. Bobby’s cremains will be buried beside his mother and father at a later date at Matthews City Cemetery in Missouri.

Bobby was born February 29, 1952 in Suffern, New York to Henry J. and Susan Retz. In leap years he was age 15. He grew up in Middletown, Delaware, where he farmed with his father and brother. He later went to work driving dump trucks and then moved to Arizona and worked in construction. Twelve years ago he moved to Hillsboro. Bobby loved going to swap meets for parts and restoring cars with his great friends. Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his two brothers, Henry Retz and wife, Mary, of Catron, Missouri and John E. Retz and wife, Lisa, of Columbia, South Carolina; two nephews and four nieces, Andy and Matt Retz, Dr. Liza Jones, Theresa Retz, Amanda, and Lissa; 9 great-nieces and nephews; and good friends, Jerry and Marilyn Schlemmer.
