Robert P. Bob Ridlehuber, 61, of Bynum died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Hill Regional Hospital, in Hillsboro. Bob was born July 27, 1948 in Hillsboro the son of Paul and Thelma Lee Hawkins Ridlehuber. He grew up and attended school in Hillsboro. During the Viet Nam War, he served his country in the United States Army attaining the rank of Sergeant. On September 26, 1970 he married Sharon Lewis in Cleburne. Following their marriage, they lived in the Dallas area for a few years. In April 1971, he began working at Sears and worked there for 17 years. They moved back to Hill County in 1975 and have resided in Bynum since 1977. For the past 19 years, Bob served as a funeral service assistant at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors. His outgoing personality and gentle nature enabled him to comfort and console many families during his years of service. Bob often was called on to present the flag to veterans' families at the conclusion of services. As a Viet Nam veteran, he was honored to fulfill this responsibility. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and watching sports. He was a member of Church of The Nazarene in Hillsboro and VFW Post #9181. Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Betty Fry. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Ridlehuber of Bynum; children, Brandy Faulknor and husband, Mike, of Bynum and Steven Ridlehuber and wife, Amanda, of Hillsboro; brothers, Don Ridlehuber of Cleburne, David Ridlehuber and wife, Nancy, of Whitney, and Bill Ridlehuber and wife, Nadine, of Rio Vista; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Brittany, and Bethany Faulknor. Memorials may be made to Church of The Nazarene, P. O. Box 572, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
