The Reverend Robert Duane Zook, 92, of Lubbock passed away on June 22, 2019. No services are scheduled at this time, but the family will hold a memorial event in early 2020. -
Robert was born on October 9, 1926, in Strasburg, Pennsylvania, to Attrenis and Lydia (Miller) Zook. He received a Bachelor of Theology degree from Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1977 and later received his Master of Theology degree from Wesleyan College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
On December 14, 1974, he married Lois May DeCosta in Lancaster, PA.
Robert was a retired minister and loved people as well as the hospital ministry. An avid reader in his spare time, he also enjoyed golfing and loved to cook. He and Lois were true nature lovers and they especially enjoyed long walks while watching birds and wildlife and all nature had to offer.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Lois; a daughter, Barbara Hasson and her husband, David; brother, Gordon Zook and sisters, Bette Zimmerman, Mary Keene, and Joanne Zook.
Survivors include his 6 daughters, Elizabeth Gonzales and husband, Henry of Waco, Texas, Marjean Wiker and husband, Paul (deceased) of South Carolina, Valerie Leaper of Pennsylvania, Denise Gautsche and husband, Jeff of Indiana, Susan Sanchez and husband, Robert of Lubbock, Texas and Jenee Snyder and husband, Jay of, Idaho; sisters, Dorothy Zeiset of Florida and Virginia Shepherd of Alabama; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
