Robin Kay (Brown) Charlson

Robin Charlson, Age 62, of Whitney Texas passed away in her home with her husband John and her faithful dog "Henry" by her side. She was born September 9, 1961, to Ronald Brown and Jean Good in Colorado Springs, CO.

She was raised in the Colorado Springs area until her mother moved to Glenwood Springs, CO in May of 1980.

Robin's infatuation with horses started as a little girl where she went through several stick horses, wearing out the sticks. When she got old enough to ride horses, she would do anything to get on one. Her brother Lee recalls: Once she caught a horse she would lead it to the fence, climb the fence, then the horse would move so she would have to climb down and readjust the horse only to climb back up again to repeat the process. This would go on and on until eventually she would finally get on. She spent countless hours with horses. She showed in Open and 4-H horse shows as a youth. After High school she began training horses and giving riding lessons. She had a love for Appaloosa horses and began showing in the Appaloosa Breed Shows, the Denver Stock Shows and the Appaloosa World show in Fort Worth, TX. She was a National and World champion many times over and was considered the Best of the Best. She had a Passion for riding English Flat classes, Reining, Jumping, Western Pleasure and Halter. Robin was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on September 30, 1989, in Monument, Colorado and was an active member serving Jehovah God the rest of her life.

December 11,1999, Robin married John Charlson and moved to Belle Fourche, South Dakota where they were active in the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, as she continued training, giving riding lessons, teaching horse clinics, and showing horses. In 2010 Robin and John moved to Weatherford, Texas. Here they began serving in the ministry fulltime as pioneers in the Weatherford Congregation working with the LDC (Local Design Committee) building Kingdom Halls all over the state of Texas. In 2019 Robin was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy which took her life 5 years later. In 2020 Robin and John moved to Whitney, Texas where they served faithfully in the congregation until her death on March 5, 2024.

Robin is survived by her husband John Charlson, Father Ronald Brown, Brother Lee and wife Vicki Brown, Niece Kitson Boldon and husband JV, Nephew Cameron Brown and wife Hillary, Great Nieces Leah, and Lydia Boldon, Brindel, Lynlee and Shelby Brown, as well as her stepson Trevor Charlson and his son Corbin, stepdaughter Amber and husband Jessee Horstmann, their daughter Neveah and extended family.
