Roger Arnesen, Sr., 74, of Hillsboro, TX passed away Monday, September 19, 2011, in a Hillsboro hospital. His cremains will be interred in Minnesota at a later date.
Roger was born August 17, 1937 in St. Paul, MN to the late William and Lorraine (Bentley) Arnesen. He served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper. On June 3, 1978 he married Susan Smith (Schleicher) in Chickasaw County, IA in the Little Brown Church of the Vale. The couple moved to East Dubuque, IL for 15 years before returning to White Bear Lake, MN. In 2010, they moved to Hillsboro, TX. He was a computer systems engineer with Bell Mortgage prior to retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and his first wife, Marlene Sondreal.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Arnesen of Hillsboro; five children, Roger W. Arnesen, Jr. and wife, Jeannie, of Mukwonago, WI, Sherry Ann Arnesen of New Ulm, MN, Steven Smith and wife, Laurie, of Reedsburg, WI, Julie Kramer and husband, Kevin, of Stilwell, KS, and Michael Smith and wife, Toni, of Silver Spring, MD: 12 grandchildren, Craig, Doug, Kyle, Nick, Jessica, Michayla, Johnnie, Molly, Jamison, Joseph, Kayla and Cody; great grand daughter, Kylie; and an aunt, Dorothy Gruber of White Bear Lake, MN.
